In the last 10 years Wal-Mart has opened almost 1,500 new
stores in the U. S., increasing its square footage of retail space by about 45
percent.
Wal-Mart sales are up 50 percent in the same period.
Wal-Mart execs forgot to hire more clerks and cashiers—the workforce
has grown only 8 percent in the last decade.
Who do you think benefitted from the 50 percent increase in
sales?
What do you think happened to customer service at Wal-Mart in
the past 10 years?
Yup, it’s the “free market” at work.
