Bravo to the hardy women and men
who are raising their minor children without the help of the other parent.
It's
a demanding job when both mom and dad are around, and more so when only one is
present….
The Pew Research Center reports that in the last 50 years, the percentage of
households with kids that are under the care of both mom and dad has dropped
from 92% to 67%. Solo moms are raising
their kids in most of the other households, although homes with a solo dad have
increased to 8% of the total.
Growing up without both parents present
is not the best deal for the kids – but let's give full credit to the mothers and
fathers who are going it alone, and doing their best for the children.
