one owl’s call
quickens my longing to sing—
my one note
quickens my longing to sing—

Earlier, I wrote this version in the more familiar 5-7-5
syllable structure:
The owl, that one call,
quickens my longing to sing
only one note, mine.
I’m satisfied with both. I prefer the original version.
