He was the last Prime Minister who
had been born during the reign of Queen Victoria. Macmillan was a pragmatic
Tory who had a fairly successful run at the helm of the British government.
His point of view is a
sober reminder of the fragile basis of trust and the powerful need to develop
it AND earn it.
Obviously, he wasn't talking about
blind trust or careless trust...
